About AMUR
AMUR is a Russo British charity, registered in both the UK and Russia, that contributes to conservation activities to save the Amur tigers and leopards from extinction.
AMUR was launched by the Former British Ambassador to Russia, Sir Roderic Lyne, at the British Embassy in May 2001 and since then AMUR has supported many field projects and has carried out awareness and
education campaigns in Russia and Europe.

Lord Fairfax visited AMUR supported projects in the Russian Far East during his trans Russian charity motorbike ride the White Nights Ride.
Sir Roderic Lyne
Former British Ambassador to the Russian Federation. Sir Roderic helped launch the charity in 2001 and has been an active supporter of our work ever since.
Ilya Lagutenko of Mumiy Troll
Ilya Lagutenko, famous throughout Russia as the lead singer of pop group Mumiy Troll, was born in Vladivostok in Primorski Krai home to the Amur tiger and leopard so along with his love of wildlife he has a very personal connection to these big cats. In July 2007 Mumiy Troll have released the new album AMBA dedicated to Russian big cats.
